If you keep up with my little blog, you may have recently read about this amazing couple in my post about Kate’s baby blessing brunch (if you don’t, please have a peek to learn the beautiful meaning behind these unique beads, as well as what a special family Baby Barazzuol is being born into). Toby, Kate, their pup Lucy and I spent this sunny, yet chilly, afternoon at the beach. I can’t wait for this little baby to get here.

Saturday Night Sunset with {the Bensons}

Okay. Where to begin. We met the Bensons and their GORGEOUS babies, Journey and Knox, last year at the beach. We had Bruce with us (who was just a floppy little puppy at the time) and he and the kids just gravitated towards each other. We struck up a conversation and the honeymoon has lasted ever since. Serendipity.

Not only is this ridiculously (and I mean ridiculously) beautiful family worthy of a Vanity Fair cover, they are the incredibly sweet power couple behind www.WedOverHeels.com (launching soon). As a photographer and soon-to-be bride I truly appreciate everything that Wed Over Heels is going to be.

Now… Journey and Knox. The sweetest children in the entire world. The first time we all went for burgers they were calling Colin and I ‘Auntie and Uncle’ within five minutes and that was it…They had me. They are contagiously happy, endlessly creative (Knox’s cheerio-ketchup concoction was Iron Chef worthy) and so smart…and it’s no surprise when you look at their mama and papa. After spending time with them we always find ourselves dreaming about our own little family and what it might be one day.

We are so happy that fate hooked us up, although I guess we have Bruce and the kids to thank. Thank you J K & B.

…and Baby Makes Four {the Gonzalez Family}

One of my first posts on the new blog was of the wonderful Gonzalez family when they were expecting their first little munchkin, Jacob. As you can see, he is now the handsomest young man and a soon-to-be big brother. I am so thrilled for Beth and Marcos’ second sweet baby to arrive. Not only are they the most amazing mama and papa, but they throw the absolute best birthday parties!

Kate’s Baby Blessing Brunch

Lovely Kate and my cousin, Toby, are expecting their first little blessing in May. Today I was so honored to be a part of her special shower. They are both incredible people- Toby’s company, www.eclipseawards.com was recently named British Columbia’s best employer, Kate makes incredible jewelry www.quenchdesigns.com (some of her creations can even be seen in my favorite tv show, Once Upon a Time) and together they work hard to make our local communities more sustainable and beautiful. They are just wonderful through and through and I am so thrilled for the arrival of this little person that is going to be a combination of the two of them.

As a gift for Kate and Baby Barazzuol, many of the ladies made individual quilt squares that will be made into a quilt for the family, filled with loving thoughts and prayers (so amazing…I wish I had as much skill in my baby finger). My favorite part of the afternoon was the Blessing circle. Everyone was asked to bring a special bead that made them think of Kate, or had important qualities of birthing or motherhood and, as we went around the circle, the bead was presented along with words of love and support. I was amazed at the special stories behind each bead…some were hand made, some came from cherished pieces of jewelry and some had been passed down. Whatever the story, each one was distinctly Kate.

Romeo’s First Birthday Party

A big happy birthday to Cindy and Fab’s adorable little munchkin, Romeo! Fabulous food, Thomas the Tank Engine swag, pinatas and even the Canucks game playing in the corner- it was a wonderful party for the little ones and the grown-ups alike.

Sisters {The gorgeous Pulice Gals}

Miss Tiffany Pulice is my BFF… and her too-cute sisters (Michelle and Lindsay) are, by default, mine too. We’ve been friends for thirteen years now and I first met Lindsay (the youngest) when she was but a wee girl of six. This was far from a formal session- in fact we snuck these in while waiting for the rest of the Pulice clan to arrive for a quick family photo. Sneaky. Very sneaky. I <3 these ladies.

Chris & Lindsay Pick Their Puppy

Chris Young (outfielder for the Arizona Diamondbacks) and his lovely girlfriend, Lindsay, came all the way up to Vancouver for one of Westcoast Rare Bulldogs beautiful new puppies. Of course, these adorable blue eyed babies were too sweet for them not to consider having a second puppy join their little family. I absolutely loved taking these photos, and watching these rolly polly little cuddlebugs flop around, nap and clumsily paw at each other. Chris and Lindsay chose a little boy pup that they are going to name Prince…a perfect name for such a noble little fella.
Linda and Bruce ( The couple behind Westcoast) have a gorgeous brood of bulldogs and french bulldogs alike, in stunning colors and with the sweetest temperaments. I couldn’t help but think of getting our Bruce a pet/playmate of his very own.
